“Look Realistic” Series #1: Genus Classic Face and Deetalez Skin Appliers

One of the most exciting aspects in Second Life is the chance to give realism to our avatar. It’s not so hard if you know where to go and how to search.

I am introducing a new look category on my blog: “Look Realistic.” Like the name suggests, I’m going to bring some ideas to look more realistic as possible with the best resource I’ve found in SL.

The first look I am going to cover is realized with the Genus Classic Bento Mesh Head and the Deetalez Skin Applier.

You can also find my shape that fits all the items above with Maitreya Lara Body Shape. I don’t have any other body at the moment, so I can’t create forms that fit right with other trademarks. Sorry.

Genus Classic Bento Mesh Head

The Classic Bento Mesh Head is the first one created with the original beta project. I got the chance to have this one and the Baby Face at the discounted price of 3600 L$. And I am happy about this.

  • Version: number (1.6) (at this moment)
  • Price: 5500 L$
  • Demo: The Demo versions are available and usable just at the mainstore. So, if you go elsewhere, after wearing the demo, all will vanish very soon.
  • Head parts: rigged eyes, teeth, tongue, and neck fix.
  • HUD: you can find two HUDs in the package, big and small size for your needs. I’ve published the graphics instruction to give you, guys, the opportunity to know fast how to do what you like to. See the image “Genus Classic Bento Mesh Head Instructions.” In summary, you can find:
    • Genetics Tab: you can customize hairbase, brows, eyelashes, beauty marks, teeth, tongue, eyes, sclera, and lacrimal.
    • Cosmetics Tab: you can customize your makeup choosing from lots of types. Specifically, you have eyeliners, eyeshadows, tattoos, blush, and lipstick.
    • Settings Tab: you can customize neck, teeth, eyes, lashes, and ears. You also have teeth and tongue add-ons.
  • Layers Control Slide Tab: you can tint and remove layers, while hairbase, eyelashes, eyeshadow, tattoo, blush, lipstick, eyes sclera, lacrimal, neck, and skin.
  • Freeze Body Slide Tab: this is crucial for photographers: here, you can freeze your body, eyes, and lips in a quiet position.
  • Basic Animation HUD: the HUD includes 22 mocap animations and 6 faces static expressions.
  • Skin Appliers: the head comes with 3 skin tones, Honey, Toffee, and Brownie. Note: in the mainstore you can find excellent quality new skins. You need the Skinnery Body Appliers to match the skin the head comes with and any other Genus Project Skin.

“Rafaela” by Deetalez Skins Applier (worn on Genus Classic Head)

I choosed “Rafaela” for this first look since it’s realistic, in my opinion. Deetalez Skin Appliers are costly respect other skin appliers main store. The quality is excellent, in my opinion.

Important ethical concerns

This post is not promotional. I don’t write about these stores because I receive items or money from them, just because I like them.

“Look Realistic Series” #1: My Shape

You can find my shape for 10 L$ about this look on Marketplace following this link: VIRTUALITY Shape look Realistic #1

It can be a good start point to customize your look.

If you have ideas, suggestions, or just you like to tell me something, don’t hesitate to comment this post.

Xiola and Berry Linden LIVE @SL16 B Auditorium

Yesterday, June 27, 2019, Xiola and Strawberry Linden met with the public with Saffia Widdershins and Patch Linden.
Saffia and Patch asked several questions to the two Linden experts in Social Media and Content Marketing.
Among the various topics covered, the importance of videos emerged.

The importance of video

The video is immediate, captures attention, and allows a quick understanding of what you are saying. This aspect is especially true for tutorials.
The conversation lasted just over an hour, and the topics covered were different.
The differences between the way of organizing live events compared to last year, the importance of bloggers and vloggers, the dissemination of content in Social (the importance of Plurk which is the social most considered by users of Second Life) and tips especially for those who open a blogger.
I admit that being Italian, during the evening, I struggled a lot to understand the conversation. I completely understood only today, thanks to the help of YouTube subtitles.

Advice For New Bloggers/Vloggers

Returning to the subject of advice for new bloggers and vloggers, one aspect that has emerged is to stay in touch with the community. So knowing what the community is interested in, what the community is facing every day, what the needs, expectations, and so on are is the first step to blogging. It means meeting a people’s request, being useful and confronting others.
Blogging in this way is stimulating because it allows you to feel useful in a specific context and at the same time gives satisfaction in terms of traffic.
I have always thought that the best marketing techniques are not SEO or other strategies such as paying sponsorship of Facebook Pages.
The best strategy is the simplest: to give an answer to the community’s question. And go having to do so, gradually on every topic.
Strawberry Linden (better known as Strawberry Singh) surprised me last night by saying that she didn’t understand why she was successful in blogging. I always thought, instead, that she had a targeted strategy, carried out with caution over the years.
That’s because the strategy, conscious or unaware that it was, was there.
Each of her posts satisfies a need. Even today, if I have to choose a mesh head and there’s a video of Berry, first of all, I find out about her blog. I save time and make more informed purchases.
So, having an informative blog should be the goal of every blogger/vlogger.
I see a lot of content on Second Life, some made with great professionalism. However, many videos fall into one of these two categories:

  • self-celebrating post/videos
  • post/video advertising

The real way to help the platform is to help its community. Doing this will give you a lot of satisfaction in terms of traffic.
Surely some nuances have escaped me because of the language, I ask forgiveness.

PrimsinMusic @LEA4 – Tribute to Kandinsky

PrimsinMusic is the art installation created by Aloisio Congrejo and Moki Yuitza for the Linden Endowment for the Art.
It is a tribute to the famous artist Kandinsky.
The installation is created with inventiveness and creativity.
If you look at the installation from below and listen to the sounds (as indicated in the tips distributed at Landing Point), you can enjoy the color, music, and movement.
Walking in different spaces is regenerating and intriguing.
But it is by observing the installation from above that the magic happens.
And here the “circle closes” for the observer: Ladies and Gentlemen… Kandinsky!
I recommend visiting the awesome installation at LEA4 before it closes at the end of June.

About Kandinsky

The musical synesthesia and the problem of the relationship sound-color was, therefore, a common thread between many artists … but surely with his works and his experiences of life, Kandinsky represents the most refined and elaborate conceptualization.

SL 16B Music Fair: the first event and live videos on Facebook

Beautiful. Exciting. Enchanting. Suggestive. Involving. I could go on forever to find adjectives like these ones to describe yesterday’s evening at SL 16B Music Fair.
The live performers for the first musical evening (Italian Time) were:

  • Parker Static
  • rч αnnє (Oxoryanneoxo)
  • Tempio Breil
  • Gabriel da Silva (gabryel nyoki)
  • Alazarin Mobius

Unfortunately, the lag (slowdown) due to many different causes (including of course a large number of people present), has created difficulties for many people, including me.
I was lucky enough to be able to record an acceptable video of the performance of Tempio Breil (in homage to my homeland, Italy).
While I was enjoying the shows, I discovered that some people shared on Facebook (but I also assume on other Socials) the live videos of the event.
In this way they also allowed other people to attend the show. So, the total number of spectators who appreciated yesterday’s live performances is much higher than the people present (there were already many).
In this post, I share with you guys the live broadcasts of last night and my video on Tempio Breil, with which I congratulate.

SL 16B Live Videos on Facebook

I particularly enjoyed the videos of Peetie Auer. Here they are for you.

Her videos are about live performers, some of today’s, 22/06/2019, who are:

  • Evely Lane
  • Zak Claxton
  • Dreama Summerwind
  • Mimi Carpenter
  • Grif Bamaisin
  • Donn DeVore
  • Skye Galaxy

And some of yesterday’s, like above I wrote.

In these days of the opening of SL 16B, I’m often going around shops. Unfortunately, the lag is very much, and moving is not easy. To get to a gift, this morning (Italian time) it took me 15 minutes (sigh). The effort was well spent because I could take this lovely gift of {le fil casse}.

But you won’t spend 15 minutes, because I am going to share the SLurl with you, girls. 🙂

SL16B 16 Year Birthday Celebration

SL16B Video - Second Life Birthday

While waiting for the official opening of the SL16B event dedicated to the celebration of the 16th birthday of Second Life, I would like to share with you the first video about this (outstanding) appointment. It is created by Linden Lab™ itself to invite all its residents to celebrate with them.

In my opinion, Linden Lab™ organizes an event that allows its residents to really feel part of a community.

Usually, we enter the platform, live our experiences, organize our events, and slog off.
With SL16B, the community of artist-residents made an essential contribution to the success of the event. Not least, live performers and volunteers.
The members of the Linden Lab™ Team were, it has to be said, professional and kind. They also showed extraordinary patience and dedication to the event.

SL16B Music Fair and Meet the Lindens News

SL16B - Strawberry Linden and Xiola Linden

SL16B is about to start: the enthusiasm of the exhibiting artists along with the patience and devotion of the Linden Lab™ Team (particularly Mischievious Mole and Squeaky Mole), was a winning mix.
I’m visiting the different exhibitions and, even if I can’t share the images of the exhibits yet, I can say that there are many original art installations.
As you know, this year’s theme is “Sweet Sixteen,” and the required setting is from the glorious 50s.
The artists’ imagination to be consistent with this (not comfortable) theme was incredible.
Let’s see now what awaits us in the coming days. The most important stages, in short.

First of all, the Music Fair which will take the stage on 21 and 22 June.
The official opening will be on June 20, the day when the exhibitors, volunteers and members of the Team of Linden themselves will open the doors of the event.
In the two days following the opening, the Music Fair will take the stage. This is a unique opportunity to know and appreciate the best live performers of Second Life.
As an Italian, I am very proud of the presence of Tempio Breil, to whom I wish all the best.
Here is the calendar, I recommend you to mark these dates:

About the appointments with the Linden Lab Team, the dates to be marked are:

Patch Linden – June 24 at 2 p.m. (Pacific Time)

Oz and April Linden – June 25 at 2 p.m. (Pacific Time)

Ebbe Linden – June 26 at 2 p.m. (Pacific Time)

Xiola Linden and Strawberry Linden – June 27 at 2 p.m. (Pacific Time)

𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨… 𝐒𝐋𝟏𝟔𝐁! As known, SL16B is the important anniversary with we celebrate the birthday of Second Life. In 2019, it turns 16 years old. It is a sumptuous event that involves several exhibitors, musicians, traders, and volunteers. Today I tell you how I was involved in this (important) event. I never made a post about an event of any kind in SL. It has been a few years now that I have “specialized” in the artistic sector, also dealing with different themes, but never of a commercial nature or particular occasions. That’s why, when I received the Berry IM (Strawberry Singh) that invited me as a blogger, I was both happy and surprised. Writing about this event is an unmissable opportunity to encourage me to broaden my horizons that, for some years, have been fossilized on the same issues. Furthermore, having received an invitation from Berry, whom I have esteemed and followed for many years, makes me even more willing to test myself with new topics.
